Head of German Development Cooperation in Indonesia pays visit to MRPP

Andreas Beckermann, Counsellor at the German Embassy and Head of German Development Cooperation in Indonesia, paid a visit to the Merang REDD Pilot Project in Southern Sumatra from 8 to 10 February 2011.

Government Negotiations with Indonesia - € 350 million for Development Cooperation

During the government negotations between Indonesia and Germany, which took place on 24 November 2010 in Jakarta, development cooperation projects were agreed to the value of more than € 350 million.

GIZ - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit

As of 1 January 2011, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) amalgamates the many years of experience of the Deutscher Entwicklungsdienst (DED), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) and the Internationale Weiterbildung und Entwicklung (InWEnt). In its capacity as a federal enterprise, the GIZ supports the Federal Government in achieving its goals of international cooperation and sustainable development. Furthermore, the GIZ is globally active in the field of international education.

ded - Deutscher Entwicklungsdienst - German Development Service

The German Development Service was founded in 1963: since then more than 15.000 development workers have committed themselves to improve the living conditions of people in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Almost 1.000 development workers are currently working in 45 countries.

On 1 January 2011 the DED was merged with the GTZ to become the GIZ.

InWEnt

Inwent - Capacity Building International, Germany, is a non-profit organisation with worldwide operations dedicated to human resource development, advanced training, and dialogue. This organisation began in 2002 with the merging of the Carl Duisberg Gesellschaft e.V. (CDG)  and the Deutsche Stiftung für Internationale Entwicklung (DSE). The headquarters of InWEnt are located in Bonn. Inwent is commissioned by the German Federal Government, the German business sector, and the German Länder.

On 1 January 2011 InWEnt was merged with the GTZ to become the GIZ.

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) will become operational in 2009

Energy security, environmental protection and poverty alleviation are global challenges that can only be overcome by joint international efforts. Renewable energies play a key role in this context. Making greater use of them is crucial in view of climate change and limited conventional resources. With its initiative to establish an International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the German government has set itself the goal of accelerating the worldwide expansion of renewables.

BMZ - Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development

The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) is headed by the Minister, Ms. Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul.  As we enter the 21st century, the role of development policy has changed, partly in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001. Today, development cooperation is seen as global structural and peace policy.

Friedrich Ebert Stiftung

The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (Stiftung  is the German word for foundation) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization committed to the principles and basic values of social democracy and the labour movement. It was founded in 1925 as a political legacy of Germany's first democratically elected president, Friedrich Ebert.

The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung established its Indonesia Representative Office in 1968.

Hanns Seidel Foundation

Based in Munich, Germany, the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) is a state-financed, non-profit and political foundation committed to promoting the values of humanism through educational activities with more than 35 years of experience in civic education in Germany, and international cooperation around the world. The HSF is represented in more than 65 countries worldwide providing specific country-based projects. Its office in Indonesia was founded in 1993

Konrad Adenauer Stiftung

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) is one of the political foundations of the Federal Republic of Germany, implementing an active and substantial contribution to international cooperation and understanding with its activities and projects in Indonesia since 1968.

Friedrich Naumann Foundation

For almost four decades, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation has served the Indonesian public through capacity building on good governance as well as training and advocacy work in the areas of democracy, human rights, rule of law and market economy.
