“Market Opportunities for Sustainable Biomass and Biofuels Producers - How to fulfil the market requirements with certification”: Conference in Jakarta
Scheduled to take place on 20 April 2010, the conference will provide a forum for decision makers in the palm oil and biodiesel industry to analyse the practical impact of the forthcoming sustainability requirements in European and other markets.
Based on an update of the legal situation in the EU and in member states like Germany, the conference provides an insight into the process and requirements of sustainability and GHG certification. The International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC), so far the only recognized certification scheme that is based on the new European sustainability legislation, will be explained in detail. A comparison with RSPO will clarify the differences between the two schemes. Representatives from ISCC and certification bodies will explain how certification is carried out in practice, what companies have to do for preparation and during the audits, and how high the costs are.
The speaker list includes representatives of the Indonesian Palm Oil Commission, the German Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection, the German Embassy, ISCC, DEG /KfW Group, Sime Darby, London Sumatra, Mission New Energy, SGS, AgroVET, Afnor, WWF Germany and WWF Indonesia.
The conference will take place in Jakarta on 20 April 2010. (Hotel InterContinental, Jakarta Midplaza)
